Historic Home Inspection
To properly inspect a historic home, the inspector needs a complete understanding of the building techniques and materials used during the time of its construction. Unfortunately, the majority of home inspection training focuses only on modern construction. Untrained home inspectors can miss issues only found in older homes and often report problems that are not actually problems.
I’ve been actively working toward the preservation of historic homes and have personally restored several over the last 15 years. In my hometown, I co-founded a historic preservation non-profit organization and served as chairman. I am also a current member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
